Tennessee Titans: A.J. Brown admits suicidal thoughts after mental problems

More and more NFL stars are setting a good example and speaking publicly about mental problems. Receiver A.J. Brown admits he even thought about taking his own life a year ago. Now he encourages others to address the mental issues.

Munich – The fact that even fame and money cannot protect against mental problems has already been shown by the example of Calvin Ridley recently.

The Atlanta Falcons wide receiver is currently taking a break from playing so that he can first take care of his mental health. With A.J. Brown of the Tennessee Titans, another receiver from the NFL has now spoken out about his personal problems.

Brown: “No hope left “

In a short video on Instagram, the 24-year-old opened up and allowed deep insights into how he was feeling just under a year ago. In the process, he admitted that he had even toyed with the idea of taking his own life.

“I almost don’t dare say this, but a year ago today I was thinking about killing myself,” Brown said, “I had no hope for better days and everything was just bad for me.”

In doing so, he explained the importance of seeking help from others, “The reason I’m sharing this message with you today is because of the fact that I’m still alive,” he continued.

Mental problems are real

“I’m still around and laughing. I have so many great things to be thankful for. I want to get everyone to protect mental health,” he gave out as an important message. “Go out and talk to someone. Get your problems off your chest and do things that make you happy,” Brown said.

Yet he never really believed in depression until it affected him himself, he reveals, “It’s so important. I know now that they are real,” he concluded. Under the video, the Titans star received approval from some players in the NFL.

The issue of “depression” has been coming to the forefront in the NFL for some time. After publicly speaking out about his brother’s suicide, Cowboys superstar Dak Prescott advanced to become the most famous representative of the campaign.

Hayden Hurst of the Atlanta Falcons also repeatedly explains in video messages how important it is to face one’s mental problems.
