Dalvin Cook: Domestic violence charges – Vikings star sees himself as victim

Dalvin Cook’s ex-girlfriend is pressing charges against the Minnesota Vikings star. She alleges he beat her and even threatened to kill her. Cook’s agent gives a completely different version of events. According to this, the running back was the real victim.

Munich/St. Paul – Heavy accusations against Dalvin Cook of the Minnesota Vikings: The ex-girlfriend of the star running back has filed charges against the 26-year-old.

Gracelyn Trimble accuses Cook of hitting and threatening her several times in November 2020. He also allegedly held her against her will at his home near St Paul, Minnesota’s capital, after an argument on 19 November.

According to the complaint, Cook allegedly pointed a gun at Trimble and threatened to kill her. This is reported by “NFL.com”.

Cook accuses ex-girlfriend of burglary and extortion

However, the situation is still pretty murky. Cook’s agent Zach Hiller tells “ProFootballTalk” a completely different version of events. According to this, Trimble broke into Cook’s house on 19 November and attacked the NFL pro with tear gas. He had only defended himself, which was lawful in this situation.

After the altercation, Trimble would have tried to extort “millions of dollars” from Cook by claiming the attack was on his part.

Trimble, who works for the US military, allegedly held the Vikings star and several houseguests at gunpoint and kept them there for hours. According to the report, Cook was the victim of domestic violence and an extortion attempt, Hiller stated.

Dalvin Cook must stand trial?

According to “NFL.com”, Trimble states in her complaint that she was at Cook’s home on November 19, but only to pick up some of her belongings. When Trimble asked Cook to help her pack, he allegedly grabbed her and threw her to the ground. She suffered lacerations to her forehead and nose. Photographs of the injuries are said to be attached to the complaint.

In her statement, Trimble admits to using tear gas to defend herself. In the end, however, she was overpowered by Cook.

It is therefore currently a case of testimony against testimony. Which version of events is true may have to be clarified in court. The Minnesota Vikings and the NFL have been informed about the situation, but are still keeping a low profile.

Minnesota Vikings are aware of the incident

“We were informed by Dalvin Cook’s attorneys of an incident between Dalvin and a woman that occurred in November 2020 that led to a conflict between the two. We immediately notified the NFL and are in the process of gathering more information. Currently, we will not comment further on the incident,” a statement from the Vikings read.

The NFL confirmed this but declined to comment on the player himself or the charges.

Cook and Trimble reportedly met in Florida in 2018 and had been dating intermittently since then. In November 2020, they finally broke up.
