After no team staked a claim on Odell Beckham Jr, the 29-year-old is now a free agent for the first time in his career and can sign with the team of his choice.
Cleveland/Munich – Odell Beckham Jr. had announced it. Best not to let any team that isn’t a Super Bowl contender stake a claim on him, preventing him from becoming a free agent.
By now it’s clear: NFL teams listened to OBJ. Or they simply didn’t have the money.
Either way, the wide receiver made the waiver list and became a free agent for the first time in his career on Tuesday.
OBJ likely to be had for little money
The 29-year-old can now sign with a team of his choice, there should be enough interested parties. Especially as a contract can now be completely renegotiated and Beckham Jr. can thus strengthen a team for little money.
Most recently, the Green Bay Packers have been in the running – a destination that the receiver also seems to prefer. The Seattle Seahawks, the New Orleans Saints and the San Francisco 49ers have also openly expressed interest.
