After Aaron Rodgers recently came under massive criticism for his Corona comments, the Green Bay Packers quarterback now cleared up some misconceptions on the “Pat McAfee Show”.
Green Bay/Munich – The last few days have been turbulent for Aaron Rodgers to say the least. After explaining his reasons against a Corona vaccination in the previous week, the Green Bay Packers quarterback came under increasing criticism.
On the “Pat McAfee Show”, the 37-year-old tried to clear up some misconceptions and talked about …
.. the impact of his statements: “I know I’m a role model to a lot of people. I have made a few comments that some people have found misleading. I take full responsibility for those comments.”
.. His Corona infection: “I’m grateful to have it behind me. But I also know that a lot of people didn’t get over Covid so easily. And it’s with those people that I feel.”
… On the criticism levelled at him: “I respect everyone’s opinion. I love talking to people who have different views than me so I can understand their situation and feelings better. That’s the only way to grow. Hate will not get us out of this pandemic and I will not hate anyone who has said anything about me. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.”
… On his perception: “I am an athlete and not an activist. And that’s why I’m now going back to doing what I do best: Play football. I shared my opinion and made a decision that I felt was right for my body. But I don’t want to say any more about it. That’s between me and my doctors.”
… On the Packers’ performance against the Chiefs: “It was tough not being there. I missed my teammates, but I’m incredibly proud of their performance. They gave everything they had. Jordan made some really good throws.”
