The San Francisco 49ers have ended a negative series at the Chicago Bears, a lot of pressure fell off the team. That manifested itself verbally in an emotional dressing room speech from head coach Kyle Shanahan.

Munich – The pressure was not without. The tension was decent, the San Francisco 49ers felt the headwind.

Four losses in a row – quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo and head coach Kyle Shanahan also got their licks in.

Just how much weight came off after the 33-22 win at the Chicago Bears can now be heard and seen. That’s because the 49ers released a clip from the locker room after the win in which Shanahan speaks to the team.

“Great fucking job “

And very impressively so. In many places garnished with the “evil” F-word (translated here as damn). Which ultimately only underlines how great the pressure really was.

“I’m so damn proud of you guys, man,” Shanahan said, “I know everything didn’t go perfect in this game. We talked about everything that needed to be done. [Brandon] Aiyuk, great fucking job, all of you on the first drive. The damn O-line, the challenge of that D-line and no sacks, everybody protected Jimmy the whole game.”

He continued, “There’s so many ways to win a damn game today. D, I know we didn’t have our best game, but we did what it took to win. That’s what fucking matters. “

In doing so, he handed the game ball to punter Mitch Wishnowsky, who became a father before the game. Another ball also went to “Jimmy G”. Through it all, Shanahan remained emotional, and in the clip must continue to be diligently censored.

“His back was against the wall, like everyone here,” Shanahan said of his playmaker: “He stood up to it and really came off today.”

Finally, Garoppolo also took the floor. He finished with 322 yards and two rushing touchdowns against the Bears – there was a lot of satisfaction in that for the oft-criticised 29-year-old.

Maintaining the momentum

“Kyle has been saying it all week: whatever it takes,” Garoppolo said. “Whatever it takes to win the game, man. It was a tough battle out there, but that’s what the hell we do. That’s who we are. Let’s keep that momentum going. Enjoy it now, but as soon as we get back, it’s on to next week, okay?”

The 49ers stand at a 3-4 record after Week 8.
