Several stars with Disney ties could perform during the 2027 Super Bowl halftime show. A report mentions Miley Cyrus along with other prominent names and an unusual idea.
Miley Cyrus on the big NFL stage? According to “Bild,” a scenario involving the singer for the 2027 Super Bowl halftime show has reportedly been discussed in recent days.
The idea was to feature several stars from the Disney universe. The report names Olivia Rodrigo, Sabrina Carpenter, and Zendaya. Even Mickey Mouse could play a role, according to the report.
Roc Nation, the production company involved in the halftime show, is said to have been in talks with various record labels for several weeks now, together with sponsor Apple Music. However, the report does not mention any concrete commitments from the artists named.
An alternative is also being considered: If Miley Cyrus isn’t chosen, Dua Lipa is said to have a good chance, according to “Bild.”
Super Bowl 2027: Disney-owned ESPN to Make Its Debut
The connection to Disney stems from a first on U.S. television: “ESPN” will broadcast the Super Bowl for the first time in 2027. The championship game will also air in the U.S. on “ABC.” Both networks are part of the Disney Group.
Miley Cyrus, for her part, rose to international fame through the Disney series “Hannah Montana.” A performance would thus also tie in with the beginning of her career.
In its advertising for the NFL championship game, Disney is already featuring its well-known characters. In February, it launched the “We’re Going” campaign in collaboration with “ESPN.” The accompanying commercial brings together more than 60 characters from various Disney universes, including Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and Darth Vader.
Super Bowl LXI will take place on February 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, near Los Angeles. The headliner for the halftime show has not yet been officially announced.
