NFL – Super Rookie Doesn’t Recognize Goff: “That’s a Quarterback?”

As the third overall pick in the NFL Draft by the Arizona Cardinals, Jeremiyah Love is expected to define an era. However, on the podcast hosted by Equanimeous and Amon-Ra St. Brown, the running back had a hard time recognizing some of the league’s stars.

Jeremiyah Love caused a stir with an appearance on the “St. Brown Podcast” hosted by brothers Equanimeous and Amon-Ra St. Brown.

In the latest episode, the Arizona Cardinals rookie was shown several photos of current and former NFL stars and asked to name the individual players.

The running back performed poorly at best. He didn’t recognize Jared Goff on his very first attempt. “I don’t know this first guy,” Love said. “He looks like that old guy Andrew Garfield.”

Love doesn’t recognize “Megatron” either

When Amon-Ra St. Brown clarified that it was Goff and not 42-year-old Garfield, Love seemed to remember: “I’ve heard of him. Is that him?” asked the 20-year-old.

Arvell Reece, most recently drafted fifth overall by the New York Giants, was immediately recognized by Love. Instead of getting into the swing of things, however, he struggled again on his next attempt—a picture of wide receiver legend “Megatron” Calvin Johnson—which he attributed to Johnson looking different on TV.

The youngster also failed to recognize kicker Brandon Aubrey—who, like Love, attended the University of Notre Dame—and former Browns running back Peyton Hillis, the cover athlete for the video game Madden 12.

Love on Goff: “Was he good?”

At the end of the game, the conversation turned to Goff once again when Love, apparently assuming that Goff was no longer active, asked again: “He’s a quarterback? Was he good?”

Love will have a chance to see the Detroit Lions’ playmaker up close on October 11. That’s when his Cardinals face Detroit in Week 5 of the new NFL season.
