Trouble for Nolan Smith Jr.: The Philadelphia Eagles linebacker has run afoul of the law.

The 25-year-old was driving at 217 km/h on an interstate in the state of Georgia, where the speed limit was only 112 km/h. He was therefore traveling at nearly twice the speed limit.

According to “ESPN,” the incident occurred on May 15. According to a confirmation from the Twiggs County Sheriff’s Office, Smith Jr. was arrested for speeding and reckless driving.

Eagles star Smith faces legal trouble

The defensive star is reportedly free on bail but will have to answer to the court. A court date has already been set but has not yet been announced.

Smith Jr. was selected by the Eagles in the first round of the 2023 draft. He recorded three sacks during the regular season last year. In the 2024 season, he won the Super Bowl with the franchise.
