The eccentric receiver has big goals in Philadelphia and still sees his best days ahead of him. Hollywood Brown is particularly looking forward to playing with quarterback Jalen Hurts.
Hollywood Brown can’t wait to get started with the Philadelphia Eagles.
The receiver, who was most recently a free agent after his contract with the Kansas City Chiefs expired, signed a one-year deal worth 6.5 million dollars in “Philly” earlier this week.
“I’m excited,” he explained in a digital presser. “I’m always looking to improve – not only to my coaches and teammates, but also to myself. I feel like I still have my best performances ahead of me. I want to bring ‘Hollywood’ to Philadelphia and I’m really excited about this opportunity.”
The 28-year-old, whose real name is Marquise Brown, is particularly looking forward to playing with quarterback Jalen Hurts. An initial conversation between Hurts and his new starting quarterback has already taken place.
NFL: Hollywood Brown already an Eagles fan as a child
“I’ve been watching Jalen for quite some time,” Brown said. “To me, he’s Super Bowl MVP caliber, so I see him as one of the best quarterbacks in the league. I consider myself fortunate to be here with him and the rest of the team, and I’m looking forward to getting involved and helping out.“
The Eagles were his favorite team in the NFL growing up, the receiver continued: ”So it all just makes sense.”
Brown most recently played for the Kansas City Chiefs. He was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens at 25th overall in the first round in 2019. After three years at Maryland, he played for two seasons with the Arizona Cardinals before moving on to Kansas City.
In recent years, he has struggled with injuries, with his best season coming in 2021 with the Ravens, when he caught 91 passes for 1,008 yards and six touchdowns.
