NFL – Cleveland Browns want a trade revolution

Currently, there are strict rules regarding trades in the NFL. A team is only allowed to trade away its future three years in advance. The Cleveland Browns now want to change that.

The Cleveland Browns have proposed a change to the draft rules to the NFL. In future, teams should be allowed to trade first, second or other draft picks up to five years in advance.

Currently, such trades are only possible three years into the future.

The Browns justify the move with a much more active trade market and greater flexibility in squad planning. In recent years, new general managers have already noticeably boosted the trade of picks.

Six first-round picks from this year’s draft alone have already been traded – most recently Denver sent its first-round pick to Miami Dolphins in exchange for wide receiver Jaylen Waddle.
