Kansas City Chiefs: Domestic violence! Civil lawsuit filed against Rashee Rice

New trouble for wide receiver Rashee Rice. The star receiver, who recently had to answer for a hit-and-run accident, has now been charged with domestic violence.

Rashee Rice, wide receiver for the Kansas City Chiefs, has been charged by his former partner with repeated allegations of violence. Ex-girlfriend Dacoda Jones filed a civil lawsuit at the beginning of the week, seeking more than $1 million in damages for “severe and permanent injuries.”

Rashee Rice: Serious allegations against receiver

The lawsuit lists a series of serious physical attacks. “Rice grabbed, choked, strangled, pushed, threw, scratched, punched, headbutted, and hit Ms. Jones with objects,” it states.

In addition, he “engaged in other violent and abusive behavior toward Ms. Jones, including throwing objects, destroying property, punching walls and destroying furniture, and locking her out in the middle of the night. Many of these incidents occurred while Ms. Jones was pregnant.”

Jones had previously posted photos of her injuries on social media, but did not name the alleged perpetrator.

Kansas City Chiefs: Rice denies allegations

Rice denies the allegations. His lawyer, Sean Lindsey, told ESPN: “We will let the legal process run its course and will not be making any further comments at this time.” The NFL told the AFP news agency that the case is still under review.

One of Patrick Mahomes’ favorite targets, who won the Super Bowl with the Chiefs in 2024, missed the first six weeks of last season due to a suspension. In March 2024, he was involved in an illegal street race that resulted in a serious collision with several people injured and cars damaged. Rice fled the scene but later turned himself in.

In July 2025, the football star was finally sentenced to 30 days in jail, five years’ probation, and compensation payments of more than $115,000. Rice also reached a civil settlement with the injured victims for more than $1 million.
