Tragedy in the NFL: Former lineman Tre’ Johnson dies unexpectedly at the age of just 54 during an outing.
Sad news from the world’s best football league. Tre’ Johnson, former offensive lineman in the NFL, has died at the age of just 54. According to ESPN, his wife announced his death in a Facebook post.

“It is with a heavy heart that I must inform you that my husband, Tre’ Johnson, has passed away suddenly and unexpectedly… during a short family outing,” wrote Irene Johnson.

She continued: “His four children, Chloe, EJ, EZ, and Eden, his relatives, friends, and I are devastated and in shock.”

Johnson played in the NFL for nine years

Johnson was drafted by Washington in the second round in 1994 and played in the NFL for nine years. He spent the first seven years playing for the current Commanders before signing with the Cleveland Browns for one year. In 2002, he finally returned to his old home for his final season.

In 1999, he was selected for the Pro Bowl and was also named Second-Team All-Pro. He appeared in 93 regular-season games, 72 of which he started.
