Rivals Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers will play the first NFL game in Melbourne, the professional football league announced on Thursday. In 2026, the NFL will play nine games outside the US – on four continents, in seven cities and eight stadiums. It has been confirmed that the game will be played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). The league will announce the date and further details in due course.
To date, 62 regular season games have been played outside the US. In Germany, the NFL has been hosted in Berlin, Munich, and Frankfurt. In 2026, Munich will be the venue for the German game. In addition to Germany and Australia, the league will also visit Spain, Mexico, England, France, and Brazil.
