NFL: Chicago Bears overwhelm Philadelphia Eagles in top match and take important step

The Chicago Bears prevailed against the Philadelphia Eagles in the Black Friday Game. The Super Bowl winners had no answer, especially against the running game. Both quarterbacks threw an interception.

Before Week 13, the Philadelphia Eagles and the Chicago Bears had both won eight games and lost three. It was a pivotal NFL game in Philadelphia.

Both quarterbacks struggled to find their rhythm. However, the Bears were able to pull away with their running backs D’Andre Swift and rookie Kyle Monangai.

Both ran for over 100 yards and scored a touchdown each. Caleb Williams threw the Bears’ third touchdown to tight end Cole Kmet in the final quarter. On the Eagles’ side, wide receiver A.J. Brown stood out with 132 yards and two touchdown catches.

NFL: Philadelphia Eagles struggling

Overall, the Bears dominated the game from the start. The Eagles barely managed any first downs and the ball remained with Caleb Williams and his team for most of the time, with 39 minutes on the clock. The Eagles had the ball for almost half as much time, with just under 20 minutes.

At halftime, however, it was a close score of 10-3. At the start of the second half, the Super Bowl winners even closed the gap to 9-10, only to concede two quick touchdowns in the final quarter and fall well behind. With just over three minutes left on the clock, Hurts scored a touchdown with a successful pass to A.J. Brown, but then failed to convert the two-point conversion. The Eagles also missed a field goal attempt shortly before the end, and so the final score was 24:15 for the away team. The Chicago team thus wins its fifth game in a row and proves that it can also defeat top opponents. The Eagles continue to stumble and are struggling to find their form.

Bears eye division title

The Eagles (8-4) still hold first place in the NFC East – despite their Thanksgiving triumph over the Chiefs, the Cowboys are still two wins behind, but have also played one game less.

The Bears (9-3) have significantly increased their playoff chances with this win and are currently in first place in the NFC North. However, the Green Bay Packers are lurking close behind and can knock their unloved rivals off the top spot in a direct duel on the upcoming match day.
