The Tennessee Titans have released wide receiver Tyler Lockett. The move was made at Lockett’s own request. The former Seahawks pro will become a free agent on Wednesday.
The Tennessee Titans and Tyler Lockett – it was only a brief pleasure.
According to NFL insider Adam Schefter, the franchise released the 33-year-old on Monday at his own request. Lockett is therefore expected to become a free agent on Wednesday and can be signed by a new team.
Before the season, the former Seahawks pro signed a one-year, $6 million contract with the Nashville franchise.
In seven games so far, he has caught only ten passes for 70 yards, falling short of expectations as a “veteran” support for rookie quarterback Cam Ward.
Tyler Lockett, a club legend with the Seattle Seahawks
The Titans currently have a record of 1-6. Last week, head coach Brian Callahan was fired.
In Seattle, Tyler Lockett became a club legend from 2015 to 2024. With a total of 661 catches for 8,594 yards and 61 touchdowns, he ranks second in all categories in franchise history, behind only Steve Largent.
