NFL: Super Bowl to be closely monitored – Donald Trump’s advisor announces raids by immigration police ICE

The Super Bowl halftime show is already casting its shadow. Now the US president is getting involved.

The decision has been made: Bad Bunny will perform during the halftime show at the Super Bowl next February. The Puerto Rican will be on a world tour in 2026 anyway, but he will not be performing in the US. The background: Bad Bunny is afraid of raids by the immigration police ICE. Shortly after he confirmed this, the NFL announced him as the act for the halftime show, causing quite a stir.

The megastar has an openly anti-Trump stance and therefore countless opponents in the currently politically turbulent United States.

NFL: Super Bowl faces headwinds from the Trump camp

The Puerto Rican made it clear that his cancellation of concerts in the US was mainly due to the US president’s policies and the associated deportations of Latinos. “Honestly, yes. And that was something we talked about and that worried us a lot,” he said, commenting on the actions of the “damned” ICE.

A concern that was apparently not unfounded. Because now a Trump advisor has announced raids during the Super Bowl.

“There is no place where you can offer safe haven to people who are in this country illegally. Not at the Super Bowl, not anywhere else. We will find you, arrest you, take you to a detention center, and deport you,“ Corey Lewandowski threatened podcaster Benny Johnson.

Bad Bunny then responded during an appearance on the ”Saturday Night Live” show. He reinforced his anticipation and also expressed it in Spanish. People who didn’t understand this would have four months to learn the language.
