Tyreek Hill is back in the headlines. The Dolphins receiver now also has to deal with an investigation by the NFL.
News about Tyreek Hill. The NFL has launched an investigation into recent allegations of domestic violence against the Miami Dolphins wide receiver. In an email to NBC Sports, the league stated: “It is standard practice for the league to investigate such cases.”
Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel had previously indicated that internal disciplinary proceedings had begun. This includes attempting to interview the alleged victim at some point.
The alleged victim is Hill’s wife, Keeta Vaccaro, from whom he is separated. She had accused the NFL star of eight incidents of domestic violence in a lawsuit filed in connection with their divorce.
Hill with a history of violence
If Vaccaro does not cooperate—the league has no authority to force her to do so—the investigation will come to nothing. However, if she does cooperate and the league believes her more than Hill, he could end up facing disciplinary action.
Incidentally, the allegations against the wide receiver are not the first of their kind. A good ten years ago, the athlete pleaded guilty to assaulting and strangling his then-pregnant girlfriend.
This led to his expulsion from the Oklahoma State University football team at the time.
