The Kansas City Chiefs are bringing back a familiar face to their defense. Derrick Nnadi is coming over from the New York Jets in a trade.
The Kansas City Chiefs are bringing back a long-time cornerstone of their defense.
According to ESPN, the Chiefs are trading for defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi. The 29-year-old had only signed a contract with the New York Jets in March at the start of free agency.
The price could hardly be lower, with both franchises trading conditional picks in the sixth and seventh rounds of the 2027 draft.
Nnadi won the Super Bowl three times
Nnadi was picked by the Chiefs in the third round of the 2018 draft and established himself as a starter on the team’s defensive line in the following years. He won the Super Bowl three times with the Missouri franchise.
Last year, however, he lost his starting spot and saw only sporadic action. He made his only start in Week 18 against the Denver Broncos.
He then left the Chiefs and signed with the Jets. However, he will not see any regular season action for the team in green.
