San Francisco 49ers: NFL suspends wide receiver Demarcus Robinson for three games

The San Francisco 49ers will have to do without wide receiver Demarcus Robinson at the start of the season – the NFL has suspended the player.

Demarcus Robinson will miss the first three games of the 2025 NFL season. The league has suspended the San Francisco 49ers wide receiver.

His suspension stems from an incident in November last year.

Robinson was arrested on November 25 after California Highway Patrol officers noticed signs of alcohol impairment during a traffic stop.

He had previously been stopped by authorities for driving over 100 miles per hour on a highway. The arrest occurred early in the morning after a home game for his then-team, the Los Angeles Rams.

He was subsequently charged with driving under the influence.

49ers receiver pleads guilty – no jail time

Robinson later pleaded guilty, received three years’ probation, must pay a $390 fine and complete an alcohol education program.

“You can always appeal, so we’re hoping for the best. But we’re currently planning on a three-game suspension,” said head coach Kyle Shanahan.

As NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero noted, a three-game suspension is the standard penalty for a first offense of driving under the influence.

Robinson is entering his tenth NFL season. In this year’s offseason, he agreed to a two-year, $9.5 million contract with the 49ers.

With several 49ers wide receivers currently injured and Robinson expected to be suspended, the San Francisco team has secured another wide receiver from the Chiefs via trade.
