German footballers Mark Nzeocha, Equanimeous St. Brown and Jakob Johnson have survived the last squad reduction in the NFL. David Bada did not make it, but can still have hopes.
The German footballers Mark Nzeocha (San Francisco 49ers), Equanimeous St. Brown (Green Bay Packers) and Jakob Johnson (New England Patriots) have survived the last squad reduction in the NFL five days before the start of the season.
In contrast, David Bada was eliminated from the Washington Football Team.
Linebacker Nzeocha (30) is the most experienced player, the Ansbacher has been playing in the NFL since 2015. In spring he lost with the 49ers in the Super Bowl to the Kansas City Chiefs (20:31). Wide Receiver St. Brown (23) missed the entire past season due to an ankle injury and is now hoping for a breakthrough in the league.
Fullback Johnson (25) had made it into the Patriots squad last year, the Stuttgart player is going into his second season with the former series winner.
Bada safe in Practice Squad thanks to IPP
David Bada was the only German professional to fall victim to the reduction of the squad to 53 players. The defensive lineman had been given a chance through the International Pathway Program (IPP) for non-American talents and signed his rookie contract at the end of July.
The Munich native, who played for the Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns in Germany, now has a place on the Practice Squad in Washington and can train with the professionals for the entire season.
