NFL: Tom Brady apparently has a clear vision for the Raiders’ head coach and general manager

The Las Vegas Raiders recently parted ways with their head coach and general manager. Shareholder Tom Brady has a lot to say about the new appointments – and apparently has clear ideas.

The Las Vegas Raiders are on the verge of a fresh start. Within a few days, almost hours, the NFL franchise first parted ways with head coach Antonio Pierce and then with general manager Tom Telesco.

Pierce’s firing was expected, given that the Raiders finished the season with a 4-13 record. He was unable to maintain the sense of optimism he exuded in the preseason in his role as interim coach. Telesco, on the other hand, drafted rookie sensation Brock Bowers, but he was unable to solve the quarterback question either.

According to “CBS”, Tom Brady also has a say in the new appointments. Although the former star quarterback and seven-time Super Bowl winner is only a minority owner, he apparently already pulls the strings in the operational business.

According to “The Athletic”, Brady was also largely responsible for Telesco’s dismissal. This had less to do with Telesco’s qualities as GM, however, and more to do with Brady’s general idea of the relationship between head coach and general manager.

Brady’s idea: head coach and GM as a good tandem

Accordingly, it is very important to the 47-year-old that the people in the two roles get along very well and ideally already know each other well. The dismissal of Telesco gives the Raiders greater freedom to find a new tandem. The goal is to provide the Raiders with long-term continuity in key positions.

Because Brady has experienced at close range with the New England Patriots how important stability is for success. In his time, this not only affected Bill Belichick, but also other important positions in Foxborough.

Accordingly, Jed Hughes is also involved in the search for a successor to Brady. The former NFL coach now also works as a headhunter and has been signed by the Raiders.
