Before the game against the Houston Texans, a piece of metal falls onto the field of AT&T Stadium. It is by no means the first serious incident to occur in the Dallas Cowboys’ arena.

These are difficult times for the Dallas Cowboys. The Texas team is currently in second-to-last place in the NFC with a record of 3-7.

And as if that weren’t sad enough for the fans, the Cowboys’ $1.3 billion stadium is not making a good impression either.

When the roof of the AT&T Stadium was opened for the first time in two years for a game of the NFL team, about two hours before the start of the game against the Houston Texans, a large piece of metal fell onto the field.

“We will investigate the incident,” said an official statement from the Cowboys, who pointed out that no one was harmed by the falling debris.

Strong winds were cited as the initial cause of the falling piece of metal. The roof was then closed again.

Nevertheless, this incident is cause for concern. Because it was apparently not just this one piece of metal.

As “ESPN” reported, another piece of metal came loose when the roof was opened, but did not fall on the lawn, but got caught in the roof structure.

“The part was hand-bolted to a beam to keep it from falling during the game,” NBC said.

Technical problems at the Cowboys’ buildings are nothing new for their owner, Jerry Jones. In 2009, a storm caused the team’s training hall to collapse.

Two years later, during one of Texas’ rare snowstorms, six workers were injured, two of them seriously, by falling chunks of ice. And that was two days before the Super Bowl in February 2011.

Strange fail caused by the low sun

Just a few days ago, the AT&T Stadium made negative headlines. The low sun shining through the arena’s huge windows proved CeeDee Lamb’s undoing.

The Cowboys wide receiver was so blinded by the light that he was unable to catch a pass from Cooper Rush that would have been a possible touchdown.

Cowboys owner Jones, however, steadfastly refuses to equip the windows with curtains to keep the sunlight out of the stadium.
