Jason Kelce smashed a fan’s cell phone after an anti-gay slur directed at his brother, now there will be repercussions.
Jason Kelce faces adversity! Penn State University police are investigating the altercation between the ex-NFL player and a fan last weekend.
Before the game between the Nittany Lions and Ohio State, the long-time Eagles center was moving through a crowd near Beaver Stadium when a fan made a homophobic comment about Kelce’s brother Travis Kelce to the 37-year-old. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end is dating pop superstar Taylor Swift.
Videos on social media show the former athlete grabbing the young man’s cell phone and smashing it on the ground. Kelce used the same terms that the bully had used before.
According to US media reports, the police report states that an “officer observed a visitor damaging personal property”.
The TV expert’s actions could therefore be punished as “disorderly conduct”, but the investigation is still ongoing.
Kelce had already apologized on Monday evening during the “ESPN” pre-match reports for the Kansas City Chiefs vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers game. “In a heated moment, I decided to answer hatred with hatred,” he explained. He said he was “not proud” of having descended to the level of the fan.
