NFL – Buffalo Bills: AFC East champions in mid-November?

The Buffalo Bills can clinch the AFC East title in no time at all. In theory, Josh Allen and Co. could book their playoff ticket in mid-November.

The Buffalo Bills are heading into Week 9 of the NFL with a 6-2 record. The team around quarterback superstar Josh Allen is on the fast track, recently sweeping the Seattle Seahawks 31-10.

Now, six wins in eight games is not unusual, and six other teams are in the same or even better position. Nevertheless, the Bills can already secure a playoff spot in Week 11 (!) – by winning their division.

This is again due to the weakness of their competitors in the AFC East. Behind the Bills, the Miami Dolphins (2-5), the New England Patriots (2-6) and the New York Jets (2-6) occupy the remaining spots.

Should the Bills win their next three games against the Dolphins, at the Indianapolis Colts and against the Kansas City Chiefs and the Dolphins, Patriots and Jets lose all their games, the Bills would be through.

And that as early as November 17. Except for the Bills vs. Dolphins, there will be no direct duels within the AFC East during this time.

This would mean that the Bills would equal a record that only four teams have previously broken of winning their division in Week 11. The last time it was done was by the Patriots in 2007.
