NFL: Cincinnati Bengals vs. Washington Commanders historic – first game without punts and turnovers since 1940

The Washington Commanders beat the Cincinnati Bengals 38-33. The game has secured its place in NFL history.

In the second Monday Night Game of week 3, the Washington Commanders unexpectedly beat the Cincinnati Bengals 38-33.

And the two teams managed to do something that had never happened before in any game in NFL history in the Super Bowl era: neither the Bengals nor the Commanders had to punt or had a turnover. This was the first time since 1940, as the ESPN crew announced at the end of the broadcast.

In addition, Cincinnati is the first team to score four or more touchdowns, not have to punt, and not have a turnover during that period and still lose the game. Previously, the record of these teams was 26-0, now it is 26-1.

NFL: Bengals start with three defeats, Commanders take second win

The Bengals got off to a bad start with the loss, Cincinnati is currently 0-3. Washington, on the other hand, has already celebrated its second win of the season and is leading the NFC East with a 2-1 record.

Next weekend, Burrow and Co. will face the Carolina Panthers, while the Commanders will take on the Arizona Cardinals.
