Travis Kelce is also becoming more and more of a superstar outside the NFL. Now the Chiefs tight end is getting his first Hollywood role.
Travis Kelce is currently preparing for his twelfth NFL season with the Kansas City Chiefs. But that’s not all. The star tight end is not idle off the football field either and has landed a major role.
As actor and producer Adam Sandler revealed on Tuesday on the “Tonight Show” with Jimmy Fallon, Kelce will “star” in the upcoming “Happy Gilmore” sequel.

In May, Netflix announced that a sequel to the iconic 1996 golf comedy had been commissioned. Sandler now told talk show host Fallon that production will begin in a few weeks in New Jersey.
The Hollywood star had already announced a Happy Gilmore sequel several years ago. Recently, rumors surfaced that Kelce could be involved in the planning of the film when he was spotted in Los Angeles wearing a Happy Gilmore cap – the speculation has now come true
Travis Kelce plans to fast-track Hollywood career
It is no longer a rarity for sportsmen and celebrities to have supporting roles and cameo appearances in Sandler films. The original film “Happy Gilmore” featured Lee Trevino, Verne Lundquist and Bob Barker. Former US sports and entertainment greats such as Lawrence Taylor, Michael Irvin, Bill Goldberg, Steve Austin, Kevin Nash and Dan Marino have also starred in various Sandler productions.
And now also Travis Kelce, who is no longer a blank slate in the industry. The Chiefs star has already demonstrated his acting and comedy skills as the host of “Saturday Night Live” in March 2023. He will make his television debut in the upcoming Ryan Murphy series “Grotesquerie”, which premieres on FX on September 25.
But that’s not all. The 34-year-old is already in full swing preparing for a post-career on the big screen, even beyond these appearances. On Tuesday, it was also announced that Kelce will make his feature film debut in the action comedy “Loose Cannons”. He will also host the game show “Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?” for Amazon, which will air for the first time on October 16.
