Injury shock for the LA Rams: Quarterback Matthew Stafford had to cancel practice on Wednesday – but the Los Angeles team is not worried
Thigh problems prevented quarterback Matthew Stafford from completing his Los Angeles Rams’ joint practice against the Dallas Cowboys on Wednesday, according to ESPN.
About halfway through, backups Jimmy Garoppolo and Statson Bennett apparently had to take over and Stafford could only watch the practice from the sidelines. However, the Rams are not worried about their starting QB, it is said to be just a minor injury.
“Stafford is performing at a world-class level,” said offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur. “But we know that every play is going to be valuable for him, no matter how many plays he’s had. Unfortunately, he was a little banged up.”
Stafford is expected to sit out week two of the preseason against the Los Angeles Chargers, if he was even scheduled to play, which is not likely.
