The Denver Broncos selected quarterback Bo Nix with the 12th pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Despite the rookie, former Jets playmaker Zach Wilson can reportedly hope for the starting job

The battle for the role of starting quarterback of the Denver Broncos is relatively open, according to “ESPN”.

According to the report, Zach Wilson, who was traded from the New York Jets just a few months ago, is in a “positive mental state” and has a good chance of starting in Week 1. He is currently working on “restoring his confidence”.

In addition to Wilson, who experienced disappointing seasons in the “Big Apple”, Jarrett Stidham and 2024 first-round pick Bo Nix are also on the roster. Head coach Sean Payton praised all three playmakers around three weeks ago.

“They’re all orphan dogs. They came from somewhere, but they’re doing well. It’s a good room. They’re all in a race to learn this system. I’d say they’re doing well. We go by what we see. We try to give them as many reps as we can. We rotate,” said the 60-year-old.

Payton still has a little time to decide. The Broncos play their first preseason game on August 11 at the Indianapolis Colts before the regular season begins on September 8 at the Seattle Seahawks.
