Kansas City Chiefs practice had to be canceled Thursday because defensive end B.J. Thompson went into cardiac arrest. Now there is good news

A shocking incident occurred with the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday: all team activities were canceled after defensive lineman B.J. Thompson suffered an epileptic seizure and cardiac arrest during a special teams meeting, according to various media reports.

After the 25-year-old was hospitalized and initially remained unconscious overnight, his player agent Chris Turnage has now announced good news.

Thompson is awake and responsive, he told NFL insider Tom Pelissero. His condition is stable and the prognosis is good.

Luckily, the Chiefs’ medical staff acted quickly after the incident – an ambulance was called and the player was hospitalized in time.

Thompson was picked in the 5th round of the 2023 NFL Draft at position 166. He only saw action in Week 18, when he made two tackles in a game against the Los Angeles Chargers.
