NFL: CeeDee Lamb ignites next level of escalation with the Dallas Cowboys

CeeDee Lamb’s future with the Dallas Cowboys is still uncertain. The star receiver continues to stay away from practice. After the voluntary sessions, he has now also failed to show up for the mandatory sessions.

CeeDee Lamb’s strike continues. As NFL insider Ian Rapoport reports, the Dallas Cowboys’ star receiver has continued to stay away from practice. Nothing new so far.

Lamb previously missed voluntary training camps. Now the 25-year-old is apparently taking things to the next level and skipping the start of the mandatory training sessions. Possibly not without consequences.

Under the terms of the collective bargaining agreement, a player can be fined up to 14,775 dollars if he skips the first day of training camp. If he misses all three training days, he could be fined up to 100,000 dollars.

Will there even be a complete holdout? Lamb is still playing poker for a new contract. He is currently still playing under his rookie contract and therefore earning very little. This expires in 2025.

Numerous receivers signed big contracts in the current offseason. These include Amon-Ra St. Brown (30 million annual salary) and Justin Jefferson (35 million annual salary). At 3.5 million per year, Lamb can’t keep up.

The Cowboys drafted Lamb in the first round in 2020. Since then, he has established himself as a strong receiving option for quarterback Dak Prescott. Lamb has caught 395 passes for 5145 yards and 32 touchdowns in his 66 NFL games to date
