NFL: Wide receiver Devin Funchess becomes a basketball player

Wide receiver Devin Funchess has probably hung up his NFL career. The 29-year-old is now playing basketball in Colombia

Wide receiver Devin Funchess has already changed teams several times, and now the 29-year-old is trying his hand at a new sport.

After stints with the Carolina Panthers, Indianapolis Colts, Green Bay Packers, San Francisco 49ers and Detroit Lions, he has now joined the Caribbean Storm Islands, a basketball team in Colombia’s first division.

He recently made his debut. He scored nine points in the 65:55 win over Cimarrones del Choco. He has not scored since then.

NFL career of Funchess over?

It is currently unclear whether Funchess plans to return to the NFL. Injury problems have slowed the career of the former second-round pick of the Panthers in recent years. A switch to the tight end position was not successful.

In total, he has 164 catches for 2,265 yards and 21 touchdowns in his career.
