Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo could be fit after shoulder surgery on his throwing arm in time for the start of his San Francisco 49ers training camps. The only question is where he’ll work out when he does.
Munich/San Francisco – Three months after undergoing surgery on his right shoulder, Jimmy Garoppolo could soon begin throwing practice again.
As “ESPN” reports, the San Francisco 49ers quarterback is on schedule for his comeback.
He could be throwing balls again in the coming weeks, they say. It had already been reported in April that he could start throwing practice at the beginning of July, provided his rehab progresses normally.
At the time, Garoppolo himself had set the goal of being back on the field by the start of training camps at the end of July.
Who will take Garoppolo?
If he passes the medical check beforehand, nothing would stand in the way of this plan either – and possible interested parties from the NFL should soon come out of the woodwork.
Because “Jimmy G” no longer has a future with the 49ers. In San Francisco he has lost his place to the young Trey Lance.
Since a no-trade clause in his contract was only for the past year, the 49ers basically have a choice of which team to trade him to.
Where Garoppolo will go is likely to be one of the most intriguing questions before the new season begins.
