Living in San Francisco is too expensive even for Brock Purdy. That’s why the 49ers quarterback still lives in a shared apartment.
San Francisco is so expensive that even an NFL quarterback has to have a roommate to afford rent in the city.
Brock Purdy, the 49ers’ starting quarterback, was selected in the seventh round as “Mr. Irrelevant” in 2022 and is playing on a four-year, $3,737,008 million contract that gives him a base salary of $870,000 per season.
This is the minimum for an NFL player in 2023. In a “Today” interview, Purdy revealed that although he is doing well from a financial perspective, he still needs a roommate.
Purdy lives with one of his offensive linemen and the two split the rent. Purdy also still drives his Toyota Sequoia.
San Francisco has the third highest cost of living of any US city after Manhattan and Honolulu. Purdy’s circumstances may soon change, however, as he recently got engaged.
