Shock for the Dallas Cowboys at their mini-training camp in Oxnard, California. Local fire and police authorities were called after a fire broke out in one of the guest rooms at the River Ridge Residence Inn.
The fire was quickly brought under control. No one was in the affected room at the time of the incident, so there were no injuries, the team confirmed.
While firefighters dealt with the situation, Cowboys players and coaches were preparing for their late afternoon practice after completing a nearly two-hour practice session earlier in the day. They were not in the building.
The Cowboys have reserved the entire grounds of the River Ridge Residence Inn for their players, coaches, front office staff and assistants. No guests not affiliated with the Cowboys are staying on the premises while in California.
On Saturday, the Cowboys host the Los Angeles Chargers at AT&T Stadium for their final preseason game.
