The start of this year’s NFL playoffs has given RTL a new reach record. As the broadcaster announced on Wednesday, up to 1.01 million football fans tuned in to watch the game between the Buffalo Bills and the Denver Broncos (31:7) last Saturday – thanks in part to the comparatively humane kick-off time of 7:00 p.m. On average, 831,000 viewers watched the favored Bills win on free TV.
Overall, RTL also saw an improvement in market share for the wild card round matches compared to the channel’s first season of the NFL last year. Other highlights of the season included the Philadelphia Eagles’ victory over the Green Bay Packers (22:10) for a season high for late Sunday evenings in the target groups of 14 to 59 year olds (10.9 percent) and 14 to 49 year olds (15.3 percent).
