The Pro Bowl stands for spectacle. This year, charities are likely to take a very close look. Because the NFL Foundation is offering donation amounts for special achievements.
Munich – Even though the NFL is currently making negative headlines in the wake of Brian Flores’ racism lawsuit, the league regularly stands up for those in need. Does so much good.
The best example is probably the “Walter Payton Man of the Year Award”, which is given to a particularly socially committed professional every season.
At this year’s Pro Bowl in Las Vegas, money is also to be raised for a good cause. The NFL Foundation is offering money for special activities surrounding the game between the stars of the AFC and the stars of the NFC.
The players who win this amount then get to decide which of the charities supported by the foundation the money will go to.
MVP titles will be rewarded with 20,000 US dollars
So the Offense MVP and the Defence MVP will be rewarded with 20,000 US dollars each. The kicker with the longest field goal can also distribute 10,000 US dollars, as can the quarterback with the most passing yards, the player with the most receiving yards, the player with the most rushing yards and the professional who collects the most tackles.
Every interception and every touchdown is rewarded with 2500 US dollars. If a team covers 100 yards on the ground, each O-lineman is credited with 2500 US dollars.
The NFL Foundation is a non-profit organisation representing all 32 clubs. According to its own statements, it supports the health, safety and well-being of athletes, young talent and the football community.
New for the Pro Bowl: @nflfoundation is implementing an incentive program for the charitable causes of the players. Each player who is recognized for an in-game accomplishment may choose a charitable cause from among the charities the foundation supports at these levels pic.twitter.com/8iYlLfKhyr
