NFL star Randall Cobb survives house fire: Family dog also saved

Shock for Randall Cobb! The former wide receiver for the Green Bay Packers and most recently the New York Jets is surprised by a house fire, but is able to get himself and his family to safety in time

NFL star Randall Cobb barely escapes with a scare after a serious house fire.

As his wife, Aiyda Cobb, revealed on social media, flames engulfed the former Green Bay Packers wide receiver’s home after her Tesla charger caught fire in the garage and the blaze spread to the house.

However, together with their three young sons on their backs, they were able to escape the flames. “We are lucky to be alive,” she wrote with relief.

The charger had “caught fire during the night” and had “spread quickly”, which is why the Cobbs had to leave their property as quickly as possible.

“We got out of the house with nothing but our clothes and no shoes,” she described the events of the night, which the family will not soon forget. “Thank God”, she said, nevertheless happy and relieved that at least no one was harmed.

Cobb saves the family dog: quick intervention by the fire brigade

Cobb later revealed pictures showing the garage covered in soot and ash. She also revealed that the longtime wide receiver ran back into the burning house to rescue her dog Louie. A rescue mission that was successful, which is why both man and beast are safe and sound.

The arriving fire department finally managed to extinguish the flames. “We can’t thank Chief Caruthers, Captain Irvin and the Nashville Fire Department enough for their quick response. I can’t get the image of the brave firefighter taking his position out of my head,” Randall and Aiyda Cobb thanked the responders in a joint social media post.

The Cobbs will undoubtedly have lost some of their belongings in the disaster, but for now, the 33-year-old and his wife are focused on keeping themselves and their children safe. “Unfortunately, we don’t know how much, if anything, will be salvageable, but this was a reminder that nothing is more important than the health of our family,” they said.Cobb as free agent looking for club

In the coming weeks, Randall Cobb will likely still be dealing with the effects of the fire. This will probably not make it any easier for his future career planning. After all, Cobb is currently looking for a club as a free agent.

The wide receiver has 13 seasons in the NFL under his belt, nine of which he spent with the Green Bay Packers. He also had short spells with the Dallas Cowboys, the Houston Texans and last season with the New York Jets. The veteran has 54 touchdowns in 166 career games and was selected to the Pro Bowl in 2014.
