At a charity golf tournament, NFL legend Jerry Rice goes completely berserk when asked a harmless question
This question clearly didn’t sit well with Jerry Rice. The three-time Super Bowl champion is currently attending the “American Century Championship” charity golf tournament.
He was asked on site by two Starcade Media reporters: “Do the Chiefs have a good enough receiving corps to win again?”
Too much for Rice. “You’re a fucking asshole, you know that?” he rumbled in the direction of the reporters, which can be seen in a “TMZ” video. He continued, “I’m gonna fuck you up. If you want something, come and get it!”
The receiver legend then told the platform that the men had tried to provoke him by grinning and asking him about the team that beat the San Francisco 49ers – Rice’s former team – in the Super Bowl. “I’m going to defend the San Francisco 49ers. That’s my story,” the Niners legend continued.
By the way, there is no indication in the available video footage that the reporters wanted to provoke Rice.
TV station takes a stand after Rice derailment
“We meant no disrespect to Jerry or the 49ers at all when we asked this question because we have great respect for the great players who played this game, especially (in our opinion) the greatest receiver in history,” “Starcade Media” released a statement after the incident.
We have sat on this video for a day as we wanted absolutely no negative publicity for Jerry Rice or the tournament but this TMZ story has now come to light and we feel the need to set the record straight on what took place.

And further, “The ensuing confrontation was very unfortunate, but we didn’t want to elicit a negative reaction, and there was no “smirk” as Mr. Rice implied. We simply wanted to hear the opinion of the greatest receiver in league history about the Chiefs’ receiving corps and whether it has improved enough to continue winning at a high level after a historically difficult season for the group. “
