A designated college athlete was killed in a shooting near Houston. Now Jalen Hurts took on the cost of the funeral. He went to a rival school.
Once again, it has to be said, there has been a tragedy in the USA. There was a shooting near Houston in which an 18-year-old died.
This 18-year-old was the team captain of the North Shore High School football team, Jarvon Coles.
His funeral was held earlier in the week and he was buried in a nearby cemetery.
When Jalen Hurts, now one of the NFL’s highest-paid quarterbacks, heard it was a North Shore High School player, he reportedly agreed to pay the full cost of the funeral.
Hurts went to Channelview High School, a rival school of North Shore. Coles had offers from numerous colleges.
