Next trouble: Derrius Guice goes on trial for speeding

Derrius Guice cannot get out of the negative headlines at the moment. The next court date awaits the running back, who was last dismissed by the Washington football team.

The court date would be unpleasant, no question. But I don’t think it would have much effect on an NFL player.

With Derrius Guice it’s different, because the running back is officially no longer an NFL player after being kicked off the Washington Football Team. But since he would like to be again, the accusations of speeding are extremely inconvenient for him.

152 km/h instead of 90
As reported by the portal TMZ, Guice was caught speeding in March. There, where he was allowed to drive around 90 km/h, he was travelling at a good 152 km/h. On top of that, there are four “speeding tickets” which he collected in 13 months.

Combined with the accusations of domestic violence, it is likely to become increasingly difficult for Guice to find a new team at short notice. Because of the accusations of his girlfriend the 23-year-old has to go to court, because of the frenzy there is a court date in September.

Before the 2018 draft, Guice was considered a top talent in the running back position and was considered a potential first-round pick by many experts. In the end, Guice fell all the way to the second round and was selected at the 59th position of Washington.

Due to several knee injuries, the 23-year-old has only played five games in the NFL so far.
