Carson Wentz criticised for hunting trip

A social media post is blowing up in Carson Wentz’s face. The out-of-contract quarterback had posted pictures of a hunting trip and is earning a shitstorm for it.

Carson Wentz has caused a shitstorm. And not with an interception or a fumble.

The 30-year-old posted pictures of himself with an obviously dead black bear on his social media channels.

The current free agent wrote: “Life dream fulfilled. Had the opportunity to see and track a black bear in one of our new favourite places in the world – Alaska! Incredible trip and an incredible animal!”

The former Washington commander immediately faced headwinds for the post.

While some comments mainly poked fun at Wentz’s quarterbacking skills, many users criticised the 30-year-old for killing the bear – “pathetic” being one of the less harsh judgements.

Black bear hunting legal in Alaska

Wentz is considered a passionate hunter and frequently posts pictures of his excursions on the internet.

Black bears live in large numbers in the US state of Alaska and may be hunted there with a licence and in compliance with appropriate regulations.

There are no reports so far that Wentz has been accused of violating the legal framework. The playmaker entered the NFL as the second pick in 2016 and has since played for the Philadelphia Eagles, Indianapolis Colts and Commanders.
