NFL suspends head safety Dom DiSandro from the Philadelphia Eagles

His altercation on the sideline with Dre Greenlaw of the San Francisco 49ers became an uproar. Now the NFL has banned Dom DiSandro, head safety of the Philadelphia Eagles, from the sideline – at least temporarily

As reported by the Associated Press, Di Sandro has been banned from sideline duty by the NFL for the remainder of the regular season. However, “Big Dom” is still allowed to travel alongside the team and carry out his other duties, such as attending public meetings for the franchise.

The reason for the suspension is an altercation between DiSandro and linebacker Dre Greenlaw of the San Francisco 49ers during the game on December 3. After Greenlaw delivered a hit to Eagles receiver DeVonta Smith off the field, DiSandro stepped in and engaged in a verbal duel with Greenlaw.

Walt Anderson, NFL Senior Vice President of Officiating, accused DiSandro after the game of contributing to an escalation of the situation.

DiSandro was not allowed to stand on the sideline last week. He watched the Eagles’ loss to the Dallas Cowboys from the players’ tunnel.
