Former running back Ronnie Hillman has passed away. The 2015 Super Bowl winner with the Denver Broncos lost a short battle with cancer. He lived to be just 31 years old.

The Denver Broncos are mourning the loss of one of their last Super Bowl winners.

Former running back Ronnie Hillman died after a short illness on Wednesday at the age of just 31. He suffered from kidney cancer.

On his Instagram account, his family announced his death.

“Ronnie fell asleep peacefully in the presence of his family and friends. We thank you for your prayers and ask for space to prepare for the final rest of our beloved ‘RJ’.”

Under the post, former teammates such as Chris Harris and C.J. Anderson commented and offered their condolences.

Hillman won Super Bowl 50 with the Denver Broncos against the Carolina Panthers. In total, he has exactly 2,500 scrimmage yards and 13 touchdowns in his career.

In 2017, he ended his career, which had only begun in 2012 as a third-round pick of the Broncos.
