Munich/New Orleans – The Atlanta Falcons suffered a personnel setback before the game against the New Orleans Saints.
Defensive coordinator Dean Pees had to be carted off the field after a player collided with him during warm-ups.
Pees was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
The Falcons official statement reads, “Atlanta Falcons Defensive Coordinator Dean Pees was involved in a pre-game collision. He was stable, alert and responsive and was transported to University Medical Center New Orleans for medical evaluation. Frank Bush will serve as interim defensive play caller for today’s game. “

Later, there was a slight all-clear: According to a report from “ESPN,” he was released from the hospital later Sunday night and will be able to make the return trip to Atlanta with the Falcons.
