In a podcast interview, Deshone Kizer, former backup quarterback for the Green Bay Packers, has given deep insights into private conversations with Aaron Rodgers. The quarterback is said to believe in conspiracy theories surrounding the tragic events of 9/11.
Munich – In the 2018/19 season, quarterback Deshone Kizer laced up the football shoes for the Green Bay Packers. As a backup, he was in regular contact with star quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
In the interview, Kizer described his first meeting with Rodgers: “I was very nervous and the first thing Rodgers said to me was, ‘Do you believe in 9/11?’ I replied, ‘Sure, why wouldn’t I believe in it?’ He just said, ‘You should read about it’.”
On social media, NFL insiders and fans accuse Rodgers of dangerous conspiracy theories. Other users suggest the conversation may be a macabre joke by Rodgers.
Aaron Rodgers: negative headlines again and again
In recent years, Rodgers has repeatedly written negative headlines off the field. In the course of the Corona pandemic, for example, last year’s MVP attracted attention with questionable statements about the effectiveness of the vaccination.

During the offseason this year, Rodgers embarked on a “spiritual journey” to Peru, during which he also consumed the psychedelic drink ayahuasca. The drink is commonly used by South American indigenous people for religious, ritual or medicinal purposes. Rodgers told The Aubrey Marcus Podcast that taking it gave him “a deep and meaningful appreciation of life”. “I came back and knew I’d never be the same. “
