Giants quarterback Daniel Jones looks back on difficult years. He nevertheless does not allow comparisons with other players or thinking about things he cannot change.
Munich – In January, Giants co-owner John Mara said the New York franchise had done everything it could to make things as difficult as possible for quarterback Daniel Jones. Playmaking legend Eli Manning also recently made a similar statement.
Jones himself, on the other hand, is not willing to spend much time looking for reasons for his disappointing last three years.
In an interview with the “New York Post”, he said that constant coaching changes and personnel errors “don’t make it any easier”, but it would also be a “mistake” to place the responsibility for his performance on anyone other than himself.
Accordingly, it would be a “recipe for disaster” if he were to compare his own situation with that of other players – something he could definitely not afford to do in the coming season.
Daniel Jones wants to focus on himself
“Everyone will take a different path and find a different situation. It’s up to you to make things work and deal with your own situation. Things I can’t control, you just waste energy, effort and time worrying about. “
And continued, “I think my situation has a lot of benefits, and having learned a lot about football and seeing it through different eyes and hearing different coaches and their different philosophies, I think depending on how you look at it, it can be positive and help you grow.”
Among the other things the quarterback has no control over is how his franchise will approach contract talks after next season. But the 25-year-old doesn’t want to worry about that, either, because he doesn’t think it will help him “play better. “
