Munich – Trouble for Lerentee McCray of the Jacksonville Jaguars: The linebacker and special teamer got into a fight with the police in Florida and was arrested. After paying bail, he was released.

The 31-year-old was driving his white pick-up truck at 88 miles per hour. The problem was that the speed limit was 50 mph. A police officer subsequently tried to get McCray to stop. The latter gave the policeman the middle finger and drove on.

Short statement from the Jacksonville Jaguars

Together with a colleague, the policeman pursued McCray. As he was meanwhile driving at over 100 miles per hour and other road users could have been put in danger by the “chase”, the police officers broke off the chase.

Later, the police were told that McCray had parked the car.

Due to a personality disorder, the 31-year-old was taken to a hospital for tests and later arrested. The Jacksonville Jaguars issued a brief statement regarding the incident saying, “We are aware of the situation and are gathering information. At this time, we have nothing further to say.”

McCray has played for the Jaguars for four years. In 47 games, he tallied 37 tackles and 2.5 sacks. He is a free agent for the upcoming offseason.
