In week two’s Thursday Night Game, Tua Tagovailoa suffers another concussion. The fourth of his career. Time to make a statement and call it quits. One comment!
It’s hit him again! In the Thursday Night Game of week two, Tua Tagovailoa has to leave the field in the third quarter! The next concussion for the Dolphins quarterback.
It was preceded by a run by Tagovailoa in which he ended up colliding head-on with Bills safety Damar Hamlin, was knocked down and had to leave the field. For Tua, it is already the fourth concussion of his career.
And it should be the last! It’s time for the 26-year-old to end his career!
Health comes first! NOTHING is more important than that!
Tagovailoa had already thought about ending his career in the past. Now he should take this step and set an example. To all players, to society
Your job should never define who you are and, above all, it should never affect your health – physically or mentally!
Back in the 2022 NFL season, Tua suffered three concussions. He did return to the field during the game in Week 3, but the outcry afterwards was huge.
Irresponsible. Player needs to be protected. Health concern
End of career at 26? Yes!
A week later, Tua was hit again. This time he had to miss two games through injury. After his comeback, he suffered his third concussion in week 16 – season-ending!
Before the 2023 season, Tagovailoa put on muscle mass and practiced jiu-jitsu to learn how to secure his head in the event of a fall. That went well for one season, now the setback.
At 26, the Hawaiian is actually a long way from the end of his career. But it would be an important signal for him to set! Especially for someone with this injury history. Someone who is so susceptible to concussions. Health is more important than anything else!
Family wants career to end
Health is actually a secondary issue, but his career earnings of over 73 million US dollars to date also provide Tua with security. He must now decide for himself whether he wants to continue to risk playing in the NFL.
His family would certainly welcome an end to his career. In a recent interview on the “Dan Le Batard Show”, Tagovailoa made it clear that his mother had already asked him to consider retirement in the past. He decided against it – at the time!
