The decision for a National Football League (NFL) game in Germany is getting closer.

Cologne – The decision for an NFL game in Germany is getting closer. According to NFL Network, it will be announced on Tuesday which three cities are on the shortlist of potential hosts. If possible in 2022, but no later than 2023, a regular-season game is to be held on German soil for the first time. The decision will be made in December.

The league has reportedly committed to continuing to award several games a year to London, where the New York Jets face the Atlanta Falcons at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday. A week later, the Jacksonville Jaguars and Miami Dolphins duel there. One is to be held in Mexico City, another in Germany.

Each team is scheduled to play at least one game outside the U.S. within eight years. Since 2007, 28 games have been played in London and three in Mexico.
