After Jon Gruden’s lawsuit against the NFL, it is now known that May 25 will be a crucial date for the case. That’s when a decision is to be made on how to proceed.

Munich – What will happen with Jon Gruden’s lawsuit against the NFL and Commissioner Roger Goodell?

There is to be a hearing on May 25 to determine whether the lawsuit will be decided in court or whether the case will be settled in „secret” between Gruden and the NFL. ESPN reports.

Gruden had resigned as head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders in early October 2021 after corrupting emails of his came to light.

Who leaked the emails?

To date, it is unclear who leaked the messages. The goal of the lawsuit is not to determine whether Gruden should have been fired for his racist, homophobic and misogynistic emails, but rather to determine who circulated them.

Should there be an out-of-court settlement, however, this issue would probably never be resolved.

The 58-year-old accuses Goodell of leaking the emails to force him to resign. The league and Goodell so far deny those allegations.
